Wendy Yanagihara is a writer and artist based in southern California.
Wendy has researched and contributed to 60-70+ guidebooks (honestly, girl’s lost track) for international travel publisher Lonely Planet, as well as articles for the BBC, The Guardian, Lonely Planet Magazine, Horizon Guides, Orbitz, and KimKim, among other publications.
She has traveled to and/or lived on all continents except Antarctica – rafting Class V rapids on the Nile, trekking to remote villages in West Papua, tracking lowland gorillas in Central African Republic, picking her way across Patagonian glaciers, and sighting pink Amazon dolphins, giant Galápagos tortoises, and Tasmanian devils along the way.
She is also a visual artist working in painting and mixed media.
